  G. Ramanujam - President

G. “Ram” Ramanujam joined Somat in 1989, shortly after earning his Masters in Civil Engineering from Vanderbilt University.  In 2000, he became the President of the firm and has led Somat’s successful expansion into new geographic sectors and into new areas of expertise, such as information technology.

Under Mr. Ramanujam’s leadership, the firm preserves the integrity of our founders through accountability, quality in workmanship and dedication to our clients.

  Arpan Patel - Managing Director

Mr. Patel co-directs Somat Technology's practice in Washington, DC.  He has 20 years of technology, financial advisory/analysis and operations experience.

He began his career as an investment banker at leading firms including Lehman Brothers, Lazard Frères, Wasserstein Perella and Credit Suisse First Boston, advising leading corporations and financial buyers on complex financings and M&A transactions exceeding $5 billion.

He has also gained significant operational experience and insight as a technology and financial services entrepreneur.

Mr. Patel holds a BA in economics from The Johns Hopkins University and an MBA from The University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business.

  Michael Klassen - Managing Director

Mr. Klassen co-directs Somat Technology's practice in Washington, DC.  He possesses over 30 years of experience in the Federal Government and technology marketplace.

Mr, Klassen was previously a Vice President at SAIC, responsible for Federal Homeland and Civilian solutions.  Prior to SAIC, he was a Principal at Booz Allen & Hamilton, managing significant aerospace and transportation projects.  He began his career at a NASA contractor, supporting the Space Shuttle and International Space Station programs.

He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
